Manifesto Poster

Here are a couple of images of my manifesto poster. It was laser engraved onto woolen fabric, the red words were cross-stitched by hand. A sampler is traditionally a demonstration of skill and records techniques, which seemed relevant to my practice. I chose to emphasise the digital nature of the process by including the exact time the file was finished ready for laser engraving.

The laser engraving worked well on the fabric, many people did not realise it was not all cross-stitched which was interesting. The format probably instantly suggested this technique. However, although laser engraving was successful for this purpose, the writing does smudge and therefore would not be appropriate for most other products. The red writing highlights the key words well and draws the eye through the piece.
