I read through Steve Thurston's article again and found another point relevant to my critical review. He writes,
"The cultural narrative that has long formed the base of ceramics provides a context for the integration of new technologies into a studio art setting, enabling computerized, linear-based techniques to become more enigmatic, more lyrical, less about being a tool and more about being an instrument of fluid acts of expression."
I think this point could add to my discussion of the attitude towards digital technology as a tool.
