"To celebrate the launch of their new £4.5million facility, Metropolitan Works are hosting a FREE exhibition from Monday 9th February – Thursday 12th March 2009.
Manufacturing technology is transforming what can be and how things are made. Metropolitan Works invited nine leading figures from across the creative industries to develop a piece of work using the Centre’s unique range of state of the art digital manufacturing technology, culminating in an unique multidisciplinary exhibition.
Projects by Antony Gormley, Timorous Beasties, Committee, JAM, Guy Beggs, Charlotte De Syllas, Michael Marriott and Smart Geometry demonstrate how new manufacturing technology can inspire, assist, develop and direct contemporary practice to produce new and exciting objects.
