I came across Bloom magazine in the library, below is the editorial which I have selected as it discusses narrative.
"In general, a need for narrating is felt by all artistic disciplines; illustrative unplugged songs are dominating the music scene, sung by the young voices of Coco Rosie, Devandra Banhart and Joanna Newsom, while illustration and painting have been staging a tremendous comeback at the most important art markets, with artists like MArk Ryden, Benny Droscher and Meo Saito setting a radical new scene; with children's book illustration and surreal pure fantasy paintings recalling Jheronimus Bosch.
A world of reality is a world which is standing still, contemplating its achievement without progress, while a world of fantasy is a world which is in constant change, challenging its achievement.
Adding yet another layer to function, design embraces storytelling too, abundantly borrowing its idiom from nature, as seen in the magnificent living wardrobe of Tord Boontje and the delicate decorations of Kiki van Eijk."
