Knit Club!

I wanted to include something about the knit club I set up over the Summer. I started it because I wanted to meet people and I enjoy teaching people how to knit.

Sorry about the quality of the photos, I need to take a proper camera.

By the second week there was already a good mix of people most of whom did not know how to knit but were keen to learn. I collected together some needles and wool from charity shops for beginners to use, which is all kept in a communal 'knitting box' for everyone.

I love the looks of concentration and absorption on people's faces, it can be very quiet.

My favourite thing is when people finish an item, especially if they have just learnt. They are always very proud...

An early Knit Club was moustache night, knitted or crocheted.

The latest development is Knit Club vs Open Mic Night. It worked really well, the acoustic music suited the peaceful atmosphere.

Everyone is welcome to come, Babahogs Cafe, every Wednesday 7pm-10pm.
